Mental health is not the same as the absence of mental illness. Just like one does not need to suffer from physical under-development to benefit from the gym, our mental capabilities if properly exercised allow us to buffer against illness and nourish our best. In this workshop learn how to make change an inviting process in the organization as opposed to something that employees are forced to undergo. Change is inevitable in organizations due to many factors. The most successful organizations are able to adapt quickly to changing circumstances to remain relevant and competitive. In this session a new paradigm of organizational change, Positive Change, is discussed. The session explores the differences between traditional perspectives of change and contrasts these with views stemming from positive psychology in organizations, highlighting 11 key differences between the two. The session also explores the dynamics of individual change, and how organizations can shift from a deficit-based management culture, to a strengths-based movement. Drawing from management theory, neuroscience, and positive psychology, participants develop an understanding about how to draw the best from an organization's human capital while instituting change initiatives and sustaining them in organizations.
