LEARN TO FLOURISH WORKSHOPS

Why do some people languish while other people flourish?  To thrive, we need to learn to build reservoirs of positive emotions, work with negative emotions, to build willpower, and to create nurturing relationships. Learn to Flourish workshops give you these tools in an intimate and supportive group setting. The workshops are held weekly for 8 consecutive weeks, each week building and deepening your happiness skill set, leaving you nourished and empowered.

 

This is an 8-week program where I conduct the group meeting in person for 1.5 hours every week. The Learn to Flourish Workshops are offered in two formats:

  •  Live, where all participants attend the 1.5-hour sessions in person.
  •  Live via video web-conferencing, where all participants attend via the web.

SESSION DESCRIPTIONS

  1. WELL-BEINGLearn what the science of happiness and well-being (Positive Psychology) is all about.  Tell stories of strengths and uncover the power of focusing on “what’s right with you” in a world that’s constantly focusing on what’s going wrong.
  2. STRENGTHSDiscover what your top signature strengths are.  Learn about naming, spotting and amplifying strengths. Use these skills to become more effective in the world by leveraging what you’re already doing well.
  3. EMOTIONSLearn about how evolution has biased your mind and body for negativity and how you can counter this tendency to worry, judge and ruminate by practicing things that generate positive as opposed to negative emotions.
  4. ENGAGEMENT: Staying engaged in a world of distractions can be challenging. Findings ways to improve your engagement can make the difference between being boredom and excitement. Learn how to increase your engagement with life.

 

5. CONNECTIONSLearn to build more positive and authentic connections with the people in your life.  Uncover simple tools for engaging in better relationships and having more meaningful interactions with others.

6. MEANING: Searching for meaning or purpose in your life, or your work? Uncover different routes to pursue your passions and discover what is meaningful to you by learning about meaning in its various forms and about what you find most fulfilling.
7. ACHIEVEMENT: Are goals easy for you to identify but difficult to meet? Do you have difficulty motivating yourself? Learn researched ways to improve the likelihood of achieving your goals.
8. RESILIENCE: Are you good at bouncing back from adversity? How about if you learn to counter adversity even before it strikes you? Discover skills that would allow you to better deal with situations that may be sabotaging you and conquer your self limiting beliefs and thoughts.
